Call to trace two men over suspected attack with corrosive substances

Police have issued an urgent appeal to trace two men in connection with a suspected caustic attack on a man in York.

The victim, aged in his 30s, suffered serious burns to his back in the attack at an address in Fossway on Friday.

North Yorkshire Police said officers wanted to speak to Joshua Anthony Strickland, 29, and Robinson Peter Fitch Binks, 26, about the incident.

A woman, 41, has been arrested and released on bail in connection with the attack.

A police spokesman said the victim had undergone emergency treatment at hospital and was in serious but stable condition.

Police said “intensive police investigations and investigations” were underway to take the two men into custody.

A spokesperson said: “To support this, we are urging people to report sightings and information about both men as a matter of urgency.”
