My fiancé promised my sister she would be a bridesmaid but dumped her at the last minute…she thinks she’ll ruin the photos

A HUSBAND-to-be has voiced his concerns after his fiancée’s bridezilla moment.

She had promised his sister that she would be a bridesmaid at her wedding, but left her at the last minute.

The couple, who have been engaged for three months, are currently planning their wedding and deciding who will wear what for the wedding.

The 30-year-old man, whose identity is anonymous, has known his fiancée Amy*, 29, for seven years.

He also has a nine-year-old sister called Lily*, who he thought had a “really good” bond with Amy.

But as time passes, the man realizes that his fiancée dumped his sister as a bridesmaid because she thinks she will ruin the photos.

On an online forum on Reddit, he wrote a message asking for advice on whether he is wrong for being “annoyed” about the situation.

He wrote: “Amy promised Lily before we were even engaged that she would be a bridesmaid for our wedding.

“Lily has waist-length red hair which she is very proud of, and Amy loves it and regularly says how beautiful it is and loves playing with it.

“The issue came up last week when I was at my parents’ house one day without Amy, and Lily was talking to me and asking when Amy was going to officially ask her to be a bridesmaid because she was very excited to get clothes to go shopping.

I hate my mother-in-law – she interrupted my wedding vows and stole my favorite song… people say I shouldn’t have married my husband,

“I told her it’s none of my business as a groom and that she should just wait and see, but I was really happy to see how excited she was.”

The groom later went to ask Amy when she planned to ask Lily to be her maid of honor.

He continued, “She hesitated and then said she wasn’t going to ask her, and that she wasn’t going to be a bridesmaid.

“I was surprised when she always said she wanted Lily to be part of our wedding party.”

For her to now come back to a nine-year-old child for such a superficial reason… that’s just nonsense on her part

The couple is planning a spring wedding, and Amy is “really excited” about the trend of the bridesmaid wearing different pastel colors.

He added: “I know the bridal party is completely Amy’s decision, not mine, but I asked her why not all of a sudden.

“She said that if Lily was part of the bridal party, she would be wearing a light pink dress, which would contrast terribly with her bright red hair, and she didn’t want that in all the photos.

“Personally I don’t think it would be that big of a deal, and I know Lily would especially love that dress as it is her favorite colour.

“I asked if it was possible for Lily to wear one of the other colors, and for one of the other bridesmaids to wear light pink.

She said she had already decided what each of the girls wore based on what suited them best, and it just wasn’t possible for Lily to be a bridesmaid.

‘I left it there overnight because I didn’t want to get into a fight about it at the time.

“I’ve been staying away from all the bridal party stuff so far because it’s completely her choice, but I was shocked by this because Amy has already told Lily she can be a bridesmaid.”

She said that if Lily was part of the bridal party, she would be wearing a pale pink dress, which would contrast terribly with her bright red hair, and she didn’t want that in all the photos.

Groom-to-be

The groom decided to bring up the subject again with Amy de next one morning in a calm manner, but was shocked by the response.

He said: ‘I started it slowly the next morning and asked her if there was any way she could do it anymore because she was so excited.

‘Amy turned around and almost shouted in my face and said that she had made her decision and that it was final and that Lily would not be a bridesmaid.

“I told Lily that it turned out that she wouldn’t be able to be a bridesmaid for a number of different reasons, but I didn’t tell her why because I didn’t want her to feel like it. it was her fault.

“She didn’t make a big deal about it and just said OK, but from what I’ve seen of her and from what my parents have told me, she’s really upset.”

The post has attracted a lot of attention, with many rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

“I’m hoping this kind of behavior is really out of character for your fiancé and she’s just super stressed and not thinking straight.

“You don’t want to marry someone who would normally hurt your sister over something like this.”

“Oh and by the way, pink and red go really well together – it’s actually a trend, so your fiancé is just plain out of style and also unnecessarily cruel to your sister.”

Another added: “Simple solution… make her a bridesmaid and have her on your side of the wedding party. My sisters stood there.

“I would also seriously question anyone who breaks a promise to a nine-year-old and defends that vile behavior by yelling at you about it.”
