Albertini says derby defeat tomorrow is ‘unacceptable’: ‘I’m turning off my phone’

Inter have the chance to claim the second star tomorrow against AC Milan, now just one win away from the Scudetto. As Rossoneri legend Demetrio Albertini stressed, defeat tomorrow would be unacceptable.

The Milan fans are already in a very bad mood after the defeat against Roma in the quarter-finals of the Europa League. It’s clear that tomorrow’s match also has a lot more significance than a derby usually does, as Inter can take their total to 20 Scudetti.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport (pictured below), former Milan midfielder Demetrio Albertini shared his thoughts on the derby. He stated that he is considering turning off his phone, knowing that the Nerazzurri are the clear favorites.

‘I won’t be at San Siro. I’m considering turning my phone off and back on in case of a win. Otherwise I have to warn my Inter friends now: you won’t find me for a week. All jokes aside: this derby has to be won.

“It would be unacceptable for a true AC Milan fan to see Inter celebrate the scudetto tomorrow. This must also be clear to the players, who missed an opportunity by drawing against Sassuolo and have now found themselves in this situation,” he said.

It is expected that Stefano Pioli will be able to rely on the usual starters for this match, with Tijjani Reijnders back in midfield, and it remains to be seen what the response will be. The performance against Roma is truly terrible, so the fans are right to be concerned.
