Eagles beat Cougars in regular season finale

RIVER FOREST, ILL. – The men’s tennis team entered their regular season finale with a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) showdown. They faced the Concordia Chicago Cougars in a conference battle. The Eagles (3-14, 2-5 NACC) emerged victorious in a 5-4 victory against the Cougars (1-8, 1-5).

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jon Olafsson And Marek Woytasik kicked things off on the right foot with an 8-4 win in the second doubles match. Caden Nelson And Andreas Hofmann gave Edgewood College a 2-0 lead with an 8-6 victory in top billing.

Alton Robinson And William Faley were defeated 8-4, putting the two teams in doubles, with the Eagles leading 2-1.

– Hoffmann continued to shine in singles, a 6-1, 6-2 victory in No. 3 action that opens solo play with a win over Edgewood College. Woytasik added a 6-1, 6-2 score in the fourth singles for a 4-1 lead.

– Olafsson took victory with a 6-2, 6-2 final in No. 2 singles.

-Nelson fought hard for top billing. He dropped a 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) final. Robinson fell by a margin of 6-1, 6-3 in the fifth singles.

Ethan Towne ended the day with a 6-3, 7-5 loss in the sixth singles.

OUTSIDE THE BOX SCORE

– The Eagles are 10-1 all-time against Concordia Chicago and have won 10 straight in the series.
