ED will investigate the money laundering case of producers of Manjummel Boys

The Malayalam film Manjummel Boys created an awe-inspiring and immersive cinematic experience for the audience this year. The film’s massive success was echoed in the box office collection it made, making it one of the highest grossers in Malayalam cinema.

However, the makers found themselves in the crosshairs of controversy when the film’s investor alleged that they had cheated him of money. According to the complainant, the film’s producers had promised him 40% of the film’s total profit share in return for his investment in the film.

Though the film is expected to have grossed Rs 220 crores at the box office, the makers have backed out of this promise, leading to the filing of the fraud case. As the research on ED continues, it will be interesting to see how the whole scenario will ultimately play out.
